For Business Owners

We understand the challenges that business owners can face. Your management team still require a large amount of your time and input. You are getting drawn into the day-to-day operations of the business taking you away on where you should be focussing your time. Your managers might seem to need reassurances from you on their decision making or direction on how to manage common challenges or issues.

One thing we see across multiple industries is that managers are promoted based on them being good at their role. They were your top performers right or maybe the person who has been with you from the start? Promoting them into a management position doesn’t mean that they have the skills, knowledge or behaviours to be able to succeed as a manager. Without the right support in place for them to make this transition, you risk taking a high performing individual and creating a disillusioned potentially unhappy employee.

Want your managers to:

  • Give you back more time to focus on business strategy and growth?
  • Take more accountability when it comes to running their team?
  • Drive more effective and efficient teams?
  • Develop their team members to improve performance and overall outcomes?
  • Ensure their team is pulling in the same direction and the business?
  • Nip issues in the bud by giving effective feedback?

How we can help

Our Management Essentials Programme equips managers with key skills, techniques
and the right mindset to lead their team.

1

Management Self Assessment

Ahead of the programme commencing, managers are invited to complete a Management Competencies self-assessment so they can consider where their strengths and perceived gaps are when it comes to effective management.

2

Three in-person training days

Over the course of 3 in person training days, managers learn about:

  • What the role of the manager is and what a great manager looks like
  • The key skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to achieve success
  • Communication skills and coaching techniques to get the best from their team
  • The art of managing performance positively by setting clear goals and action plans
  • How to align the team with the wider business goals and priorities
  • Leading actionable 121 meetings and how to review goals effectively
  • How to encourage accountability from the team when it comes to their own performance
  • Essential feedback skills to support with the teams ongoing development
  • How to motivate and drive positive performance from the team
  • Delegation skills to increase the skillset in the team and reduce single person dependencies.

1-2-1 action planning

At the end of the programme, all attendees have a 121-action planning session with the programme facilitator which brings together the key actions they are taking away from the programme and crucially, how they intend to implement their learning.

What part do you play?

It is important that your managers have clarity from you on what is expected from them and what good looks like for their role. We would always encourage all employees to have a clear job description along with a set of performance objectives or goals.

If you require help in ensuring your managers have the clarity to set them up for success, get in touch or check out our guide to developing High Performance Management Teams.
